EASportsWorld

While working for JumpTV Sports (formerly XOS Technologies), we began by creating a core community site using Adobe Flex with web services linking to our Coldfusion backend. Soon after we began, EA Sports caught wind of it and approached us to create a community site for their 2008 video game releases. EASportsWorld.com was a huge team effort, but I was given the opportunity to work on almost all aspects of the site along the way.

USALearning

GeoLearning provides an online learning solutions to it's clients, and USALearning.gov is a site used to train individuals working for the government. Even though all sites should take 508 Compliance into consideration, it was especially important for USALearning because it is a government site. In addition, this site required a complete overhaul from the normal template and had to be done using CSS only.

Harvard Medical School Admissions

As a Production Leader at Stamats, Inc., my goal was to convert designs created in Photoshop to HTML and CSS. I worked very closely with the designers to ensure their visions came to life on the web. The HMS Admissions site is a fairly basic layout and was done using a table-based structure.

Franklin and Marshall University Admissions

Franklin and Marshall University Admissions is another site I worked on at Stamats, Inc. The team at F&M wanted to be able to create and edit their own content, so this site was created with Macromedia Contribute (now Adobe Contribute). Contribute is a WYSIWYG-based editor that allows several authors to edit a site without overwriting each others content. Within the code of the site, specific content areas are set where the F&M team would be allowed to edit, and all other areas of the site were locked down to avoid creating issues in the design.

UI Healthcare

The University of Iowa Hospital is recognized as one of the best hospitals in the United States, so it was an honor to be able to join their team as a web designer. My main function was to work with department leaders to create and maintain departmental pages. However, on occasion, I acted as a journalist - taking photos and interviewing hospital staff to be used on the site.

Cornell College

While earning my bachelors degree at Cornell College, I had the opportunity to work on the Web Design team, which was responsible for creating and maintaining the Cornell College web site. I worked closely with students, faculty, and staff to create pages for various departments and organizations.

Cornell College - Virtual Dorm

Although it is no longer active, the Cornell College Virtual Dorm was a Gold Award-winning (Admissions Marketing Report, January 2003) site. It featured a virtual interactive dorm room and message boards allowing newly admitted students to interact with each other and admissions counselors. I worked with other members of the Web Design team to create the site using PHP, MySQL, and Flash.
